Inter Milan have announced the signing of Alessandro Bastoni from Juventus in a deal worth €24 million, with the defender joining the Serie A giants on a five-year contract.

The 19-year-old centre-back is a product of the Juve youth academy and made his senior debut for the Bianconeri during the 2018-19 season. He has since made 65 appearances for the Turin club, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Bastoni is regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe and he will be hoping to make an immediate impact at Inter, who are currently third in Serie A after winning their opening four games of the season.

The move comes as a significant coup for Inter, who have struggled defensively this season and have already conceded nine goals in just three matches. Bastoni's arrival could help bolster their backline and give them more stability in defence.

However, there are concerns about how well the youngster will adapt to life at the Serie A level, given that he only recently moved to Italy from Italy.
